Pressure filters is a general term for the filter which forces a contaminated fluid through a barrier so the unwanted material is intercepted on the barrier and the cleaned liquid flows through. Pressure filters are manufactured in a variety of styles, shapes and sizes. Some of the filters are called by the type of barrier used inside the pressure vessel to intercept the solids; cartridge, bag, screen, and tubular filters. Others are called by the type of housing the filter uses to hold the media. These are horizontal plate and frame, vertical plate and frame, and flat bed roll media. The industrial arena uses all of these designs by selecting them for their key performance features. For example the flat bed pressure filter is a popular choice because of three of its main features;
1) Flat bed pressure filters use roll media which will be automatically changed when the pressure differential reaches a set-point.
2) Flat bed pressure filters' flow rates can be relatively higher with less filter area because of their ability to safely operate at a higher pressure differentials and still have automatic media changes.
3) Flat bed pressure filters (with most applications) go through a cycle to extract the free liquid from the cakes of contaminants before they are discharged. This reduces the loss of fluid and yields relatively dry solids.

Harrigan Solutions offer new and used filters and service agreements to maintain them if you need to have outside support. Often outside maintenance offers advantages because the technicians are devoted to service filtration equipment and your present staff is free to devote their time to other plant maintenance needs.
