Used Filtration Equipment Is a Good Trade-off

Used filtration equipment usually carries enough of a cost savings it may be justified if the system designer can accept a trade off by using side-arm flow instead of full flow. By understanding the value of side-arm systems where the flow is diverted to an independent loop with a smaller filter, the designer can take advantage of the lower cost.

The thought that anything less than a full flow system would not yield acceptable results is old school and proven wrong many times. A side-arm filter can be justified as long as it has the capability of maintaining the fluid at a level of clarity which is acceptable for the process. Even when a side-arm filter can not maintain a level of clarity for long periods, it can extend the coolant 's life so dumping may not be needed as often. The lower frequency of dumping will save time and money and if the savings are greater than the cost of installing the side-arm filter the project is justified.

Harrigan Solutions has a staff of trained engineers who are familiar with the values of side-arm filtration. Harrigan Solutions also carries an inventory of used filters and centrifuges.
