The basic function and main purpose of the horizontal screw centrifuge is to continuously separate the materials entering the machine, requiring the machine to release the separated materials so that the machine can continue to process the incoming materials.
The main purpose of the horizontal spiral centrifuge is to continuously separate the materials entering the machine, requiring the machine to release the separated materials so that the machine can continue to process the incoming materials.
When discussing the feeding system, the feed pump and the metering pump are usually the first to come to mind. However, in order to ensure normal operation, it is crucial to keep all the outlets of the horizontal screw centrifuge “unblocked”. These outlets include the solid slag discharge port and the clear liquid outlet after separation, as well as their corresponding valves. Outlet blockage can cause the material to spread or get stuck in the rotating drum of the centrifuge, causing excessive vibration, noise, and even solid slag blockage. Therefore, it is crucial to prevent blockage and keep all outlets unblocked for optimal performance.
The outlet of the horizontal screw centrifuge may be blocked, causing the material to spread upward, resulting in the gradual accumulation of solid residue on the centrifuge cover and in the gap between the cover and the drum body, causing severe wear and grooves on the drum body, and posing a safety hazard.
Before starting the feed pump, you need to start the slag discharge system and open the liquid outlet pipeline. Our control system has implemented logical protection, but in some cases, customers may have special requirements and ignore logical protection. As an operator, you must thoroughly understand this logical sequence and strictly follow it.
When operating a horizontal screw centrifuge, start with a low flow rate and carefully monitor the discharged clear liquid. Solid residues must accumulate inside the centrifuge before they can be discharged. The discharged liquid should be clear, because turbidity may indicate potential blockage. When clear liquid is discharged from the appropriate port and solid residue is discharged from another port, if it carries some moisture, it means that the material flow is unobstructed and the parameters can be further adjusted.
