Application Of Decanter Centrifuge In Water Treatment

Overview

Decanter Centrifuge is a continuous device that separates solids and liquids through centrifugal force. It is widely used in municipal sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, sludge dewatering and other fields. Its core advantages are high efficiency and high degree of automation. It can process county suspensions with low solid content and output mud cakes with low water content.

Structure and working principle

1. Main structure

Drum: Horizontally mounted cylindrical-conical composite cylinder with adjustable speed (usually 1500-4000rpm).

Screw conveyor: Coaxial with the drum but with speed difference, used to push the separated solids.

Differential: Controls the speed difference between the screw and the drum (usually 0.5-30rpm), affecting the slag discharge efficiency.
Drive system: Dual motors or hydraulic drive, respectively controlling the speed of the drum and screw.

2. Working Principle

The material enters the drum through the feed pipe. Under the centrifugal force (up to 3000g or more) generated by high-speed rotation, the solid particles with higher density settle to the inner wall of the drum and are pushed to the discharge port by the screw conveyor. The liquid phase forms an inner layer of clear liquid and is discharged from the overflow port, realizing continuous solid-liquid separation.

Typical applications in water treatment

1. Municipal sewage treatment

Sludge dehydration: Dehydrate the residual sludge (water content 99%+) after biochemical treatment to 80%-85% Primary sedimentation tank sludge concentration: Replace the traditional gravity concentration tank to save floor space.

2. Industrial wastewater treatment

Oil-containing sludge treatment (such as petrochemical wastewater)

Separation of high-salt wastewater crystals (such as coal chemical, pharmaceutical wastewater)

Recovery of organic matter in food processing wastewater
