Basic Overview of Decanter Centrifuge

Working principle of decanter centrifuge

 

The working principle of decanter centrifuge is that the drum and screw rotate at high speed in the same direction with a certain differential speed, and the material is continuously introduced into the inner cylinder of the feeding screw from the feeding pipe and accelerated into the drum. Under the action of centrifugal force field, the heavier solid-phase material is deposited on the wall of the drum to form a slag layer, which is pushed to the cone end of the drum by the spiral pusher and discharged. The lighter liquid phase forms the inner liquid ring, which overflows continuously from the overflow port at the big end of the drum, thus realizing solid-liquid separation.

1.Sludge dewatering:Decanter centrifuge is mainly used for sludge dewatering treatment in water treatment plant. Through the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation, the water in the sludge is separated out, so that the water content of the sludge is significantly reduced, which is convenient for subsequent treatment and disposal.

2. Solid-liquid separation: In addition to sludge dewatering, decanter centrifuge can also be used for a variety of solid-liquid separation of floating liquid. 1. rotational speed: the rotational speed of the decanter centrifuge is an important factor affecting the separation effect. Generally speaking, the higher the rotational speed, the higher the separation factor, the better the separation effect. However, it should be noted that do not exceed the maximum speed in the nameplate or manual of the equipment.

2. Material: different materials of decanter centrifuge has different wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other physical and chemical indicators. When choosing, it should be selected according to the actual working conditions and material characteristics.

3. Differential speed control: the control precision of the differential has a great influence on the adaptability of the material. The higher the precision of differential speed, the better the adaptability of the material. Therefore, in the selection should choose the equipment with high differential speed precision.

4. Installation and maintenance:When installing the decanter centrifuge, it should ensure that its body is in a horizontal state, and should be operated and maintained in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
