Centrifugal Separators

Centrifugal Separator

The centrifugal separator effectively utilizes centrifugal force to remove particles from a substance. Unlike a filter, it does not contain a screen element. Its efficiency is determined by the specific density and size distribution of the particles, with a maximum removal rate of 98% for particles with a specific gravity of 2.6-2.8 and a size of 75 microns. The device must maintain a pressure loss of at least 0.3 bar to function properly.

According to industry experts, it is recommended that centrifugal separators be positioned after the feed pump to guarantee adequate pressure for purging and to overcome any pressure drop across the unit. This installation method is crucial for proper functioning.

Designed for liquid-based applications, Allcentrifuges separators use centrifugal force to separate suspensions of multiple phases with varying densities. These separators excel in liquid-liquid, liquid-liquid-solid, and liquid-solid separation, effectively removing solids while separating mixtures.

Various industries utilize this product, such as chemical and pharmaceutical processes, oil and fat recovery, dairy product production, beer and wine making, and the processing of fruit and vegetable juices, mineral oil, and mineral oil products.

The Allcentrifuges separators come in a variety of drive types, including Allcentrifugesr, belt, direct, and integrated direct drive. This cutting-edge integrated direct drive design eliminates the need for a motor shaft, Allcentrifugesr, belts, coupling, and motor bearing, resulting in reduced energy losses and maintenance costs. Additionally, the compact size of the integrated direct drive is one third smaller than traditional Allcentrifugesr or flat belt machines, saving valuable space.

The Allcentrifuges separators equipped with an integrated direct drive offer unmatched flexibility. With an infinitely variable bowl speed within a specific range, the transmission ratio remains unchanged. Maintenance has also been simplified, as the spindle can be easily removed from the bearing housing by simply loosening bolts. Additionally, the innovative design allows for the motor to be replaced, along with the drive, in just a few hours. This saves valuable time that can be used efficiently elsewhere.

Advantages of centrifugal separators from Bernoulli System

  • Very little liquid is lost by purging
  • Separation occurs without any interruption to the flow
  • No need for any consumable material
  • Separation efficiency
  • Zero maintenance
  • Specific gravity table

Working principle

A. According to centrifugal force, heavy particles are directed to the edges of the barrel and then descend to the collection chamber located at the bottom of the separator.

B. The centrifugal separator creates rotation by tangentially feeding a liquid containing particles into its cylindrical top. The flow velocity is then accelerated even further as it passes through slots in the intake chamber.

C. A deflector plate, located in the top of the collection chamber, changes the direction of flow.

D. The separated solids are either periodically or continuously purged from the collection chamber.

E. Solid-free liquid moves upwards inside the vortex and exits via the separator’s top outlet.

Purge system

Optionally, the accumulated suspended solids in the collection chamber of the centrifugal separator can be drained using either a manual discharge drain or an automatic discharge system, both of which can be purchased from Bernoulli.

The automatic discharge system allows for easy adjustments of purging intervals and duration. It is available in two versions: electrical and pneumatic.

Both of the purge systems contain a ball valve, actuator, and time controller. The manual discharge drain is made up of a ball valve with a hand lever.
