Fault 1: Difficulty in starting
Cause analysis:
- The centrifuge’s large starting current and prolonged operation can trigger the protective function of the electrical switch.
- The drum contains multiple residues and the spiral may become blocked.
- The merchant may provide additional instructions regarding the oil pressure, such as if it is too low or if the pressure relay is not working properly. Always follow the merchant’s guidelines, even if it conflicts with any other instructions or tone suggestions.
Solution:
- Adjust the time relay as needed.
- After rinsing with clean water, manually remove any remaining debris.
- Make adjustments to related components.
Fault 2: Severe vibration during idling
Cause analysis:
- The drum scale is not aligned during maintenance and assembly, which destroys the dynamic balance accuracy;
- Lubricating oil deteriorates;
- Main bearing failure;
- The inner ring of the main bearing and the shaft are loose;
- The screw conveyor bearing fails;
- The bolts of the liquid outlet and the slag outlet are not tightened or the pipeline is rigidly connected;
- The head flange is loose, causing the differential to vibrate;
- After stopping, the valve is not closed and the material is fed, causing the material to accumulate in the drum and produce eccentricity;
- The connection of the rotating parts is loose and deformed.
Solution:
- Realign the scale.
- Replace according to the instructions.
- Replace the bearing.
- Repair or replace the end cover.
- Replace the bearing.
- Tighten the bolts and change the pipe to an elastic soft connection.
- Replace the head flange or small end cover.
- Replace the differential accessories.
- Wash with water. If the material is seriously accumulated, turn the differential secondary pulley counterclockwise by hand after stopping the machine to discharge the material. After the accumulated material is discharged, it can be put into use again.
- Check and repair.
Fault 3: Differential temperature is too high (over 85℃)
Cause analysis:
- Differential lacks oil;
- Too much load;
- Poor heat dissipation;
- Damage to bearings or parts inside the differential;
- New differential in use
Solution:
- Check the differential and add grease;
- Adjust the load;
- Improve the working environment temperature;
- Repair the differential;
- Run with light load during the running-in period.
Fault 4: Frequent synchronization between the drum and the spiral
Cause analysis:
- Large feed and heavy load;
- There is a collision between the spiral and the drum;
- The differential is damaged;
- Coarse particles in the material enter the centrifuge.
Solution:
- Adjust the feed amount.
- Check the drum and spiral.
- Replace.
- Check the filter device.
Fault 5: No discharge
Cause analysis:
- The concentration of the suspension is too low or the feed amount is too small;
- The weight difference between the solid phase and the liquid phase is too small;
- The machine rotates in the opposite direction;
- The differential is damaged;
- The drum discharge port is blocked or the material is accumulated inside;
- There is material accumulation between the shell and the drum.
Solution:
- Increase the feed amount.
- Improve the process.
- Find out the cause and correct it.
- Replace the new differential.
- Stop the machine for inspection.
- Open the cover for inspection.
Fault 6: No discharge
Cause analysis:
- The concentration of the suspension is too low or the feed volume is too small;
- The weight difference between the solid phase and the liquid phase is too small;
- The machine rotates in the opposite direction;
- The differential is damaged;
- The drum discharge port is blocked or the material is accumulated inside;
- There is material accumulation between the shell and the drum.
Solution:
- Increase the feed volume.
- Improve the process.
- Find out the cause and correct it.
- Replace the new differential.
- Stop the machine for inspection.
- Open the cover for inspection.
Fault 7: High water content in discharge
Cause analysis:
- Too much feed;
- Too deep liquid layer;
- Insufficient separation factor.
Solution:
- Reduce feed amount.
- Adjust liquid layer depth.
- Increase centrifuge speed.
