Working Principle of a Decanter Centrifuge
The full name of a decanter centrifuge is a screw discharge decanter centrifuge. Its basic operating principle is:
High-speed rotation separation
Material enters the bowl from the feed inlet. Under the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation, dense solid particles quickly settle to the bowl wall, forming a solid phase layer. Meanwhile, less dense liquid accumulates inside the solid phase layer, forming a liquid phase layer.
Differential Screw Conveying
Inside the bowl, a certain speed difference exists between the screw conveyor and the bowl. This differential speed is used to continuously push the deposited solid particles to the discharge port, achieving automatic solid discharge.
Liquid Clarification and Discharge
The clarified liquid is discharged from the overflow port at the other end, completing the entire solid-liquid separation process.
