Decanter Centrifuge Common Faults And Troubleshooting Reason

  • by

Difficulty in starting

Cause

1. The centrifuge starting current is too large, resulting in the electrical switch to protect.

2. More residual material in the drum, the spiral screen hole is blocked.

Elimination method

1. Adjust the time relay to ensure that the starting current is within the safe range.

2. Use water to flush under pressure, while rotating the spiral and using a manual disk to remove the blockage.

Vibration during operation

Cause

1. During maintenance and assembly, the drum scribing is not aligned, destroying the dynamic balancing accuracy.

2. Degradation of lubricating oil.

3. Failure of main bearing or looseness of inner ring and shaft.

4. Screw conveyor bearing failure.

5. Discharge port flange hard connection or head flange loose.

6. Differential damage (usually caused by lack of oil)

7. Loose deformation at joints of rotating parts.

8. New drum fittings are not dynamically balanced.

9. Severe wear of spiral parts.

10. Material in the shell rubbing against the outer drum.

Troubleshooting

1. Re-align the drum to ensure the accuracy of dynamic balancing.

2. Replace the deteriorated lubricating oil.

3. Replace the failed main bearing or repair the loose inner ring and shaft.

4. Replace the screw conveyor bearings.

5. Use hose connection at joints, or repair or replace new head flange.

6. Replace differential fittings and ensure good lubrication.

7. Check and repair loose deformation of rotating parts.

8. Dynamically balance new drum fittings.

9. Repair or replace worn screw parts.

10. Clean or periodically flush the material in the housing to minimize friction with the outer drum.

High bearing housing temperature in no-load operation

Cause

1. Oil deteriorates and loses lubrication.

2. Bearing is damaged or clearance is too small.

3. The belt is too tight, resulting in increased friction power consumption of the main bearing and heat.

4. Small oil supply or oil breakage.

Troubleshooting

1. Replace deteriorated lubricant.

2. Replace damaged bearings and ensure proper clearance.

3. Loosen the belt properly to reduce the friction power consumption.

4. Check the oil pressure, oil volume and oil pipeline to ensure normal oil supply.

High differential temperature

Cause

1. Differential lack of oil.

2. Excessive load.

Remedy

1. Check the differential oil level to ensure good lubrication.

2. Adjust the load to avoid excessive.

No Discharge

Reason

1. Suspension concentration is too low or feed amount is too small.

2. The specific gravity difference between solid phase and liquid phase is too small.

3. Decanter centrifuge rotating in the opposite direction.

4. Differential damage.

5. The drum discharge port is blocked or the internal accumulation of material.

6. There is material accumulation between the shell and the drum.

Elimination methods

1. Increase the feed quantity or increase the concentration of suspension.

2. Improve the process to improve the specific gravity difference between solid phase and liquid phase.

3. Identify the cause and correct the rotating direction.

4. Replace the damaged differential.

5. Stop the machine to check and clean the discharge port of the drum.

6. Open to check and clean up the shell and drum between the accumulation of material.

The common faults and troubleshooting causes of decanter centrifuge involve many aspects, which need to be judged and handled by the operator according to the specific situation. When troubleshooting, you should make sure that you follow the safe operating procedures and take appropriate precautions to prevent the recurrence of similar failures.
