Working Principle of a Decanter Centrifuge

A decanter centrifuge is a spiral-discharging decanter centrifuge. Its separation process is based on the density difference between solids and liquids and centrifugal force. Its core structure consists of a rotating drum, a screw conveyor, a differential gear, a drive system, and a control system.

Feeding Stage

The mixed liquid (solids-containing suspension) enters the drum through a feed pipe.

The high-speed rotation of the drum creates a powerful centrifugal field, causing solid particles, due to their higher density, to settle on the inner wall of the drum.

Separation Stage

The screw conveyor and the drum operate at a certain differential speed, pushing the deposited solids toward the discharge port.

The clarified liquid is discharged through an overflow port at the other end.

Discharge Stage

Solids are continuously discharged at the discharge port without requiring downtime.

This process is fully automated, minimizing manual intervention.
