Equipment principle

1. Separation logic: continuous physical separation driven by centrifugal force

The basic separation logic of the horizontal screw centrifuge is derived from Newton’s second law – with the help of the strong centrifugal field generated by the high-speed rotating drum, materials with different specific gravities can be efficiently stratified and separated. The mixed liquid enters the center of the equipment under the action of the feed pump and rotates rapidly in the drum. The heavy solid phase is deposited on the inner wall of the drum under the action of centrifugal force, and the lighter liquid phase is close to the center. The screw conveyor continuously pushes the deposited solids to the slag outlet at a certain differential speed to achieve automatic separation and discharge of solids and liquids.

2. Core structure composition

Drum: A high-speed rotating component, generally made of duplex steel or 316L stainless steel, which withstands extremely high centrifugal force and determines the operating stability of the equipment.

Screw conveyor: The spiral body and the drum rotate at a differential speed to push the deposited solids from the feed area to the slag discharge area. It is the “actuator” of the equipment.

Differential: Controls the relative speed between the screw and the drum. The size of the differential directly affects the slag discharge speed and dryness.

Drive system: includes the main motor and the auxiliary motor. The main motor drives the drum to rotate, and the auxiliary motor controls the differential.

Shell and base: The overall support frame of the equipment. The design must have anti-vibration, noise reduction, and corrosion resistance.

3. Automatic control system

Modern horizontal screw centrifuges are generally equipped with PLC controllers + touch screen interfaces.

Application expansion: Practical cases in multiple industries

1. Municipal sewage and industrial sludge treatment

In the sludge treatment process, the decanter centrifuge can achieve efficient dehydration of sludge. Its closed structure, clean operation and continuous operation are widely used in:

Sludge dehydration in urban sewage treatment plants;

Sludge concentration in electroplating wastewater;

Mud recovery in paper mills and printing and dyeing plants.

In actual cases, a 35m³/h decanter centrifuge can replace two traditional plate and frame filter presses, greatly saving manpower and improving the degree of automation.

In the process of oil drilling, the cuttings and mud in the drilling fluid need to be continuously separated and recovered. The decanter centrifuge has the advantages of high temperature resistance, strong high viscosity material processing ability and high wear resistance, and is widely used in:

Drilling fluid purification system;

Pretreatment of crude oil dehydration;

Separation and reuse of oily sludge.

Operation and maintenance

Preparation before starting

Check whether the feed pump, dosing pump and slag discharge valve are normal;

Check whether the bearing lubrication system is filled with oil;

Check whether the control system alarms or loses power;

Startup process

Start the main motor and spiral motor first;

After confirming that the no-load operation is stable, start the dosing system;

Then slowly open the feed pump and gradually increase the flow rate.

Daily maintenance suggestions

Check the bearing temperature and vibration frequency once a week;

Check the wear of the spiral blades once a month;

Replace the lubricating oil and clean the oil circuit every quarter;

It is recommended to perform a dynamic balance check of the whole machine once a year.
