Overview of working principle
Horizontal screw centrifuge is a mechanical device that uses the principle of centrifugal force to separate solid-liquid mixtures. Its core structure consists of a drum, a screw conveyor (screw), a differential, a motor drive system, a feeding system, a slag discharge system and an electronic control system.
The working process is as follows:
Material feeding: The solid-containing liquid is fed into the central feed pipe of the equipment through a feed pump;
High-speed rotation: After the material enters the high-speed rotating drum, due to the centrifugal force, the solid particles are quickly thrown to the inner wall of the drum to form a sediment layer, and the clear liquid moves toward the center to form a liquid layer;
Screw conveying: The screw conveyor and the drum rotate at a certain differential speed, pushing the deposited solids to the solid slag outlet at the conical end;
Clear liquid discharge: The clarified liquid is discharged from the overflow port at the other end, realizing continuous feeding, continuous separation and continuous discharge.
This structural design enables the horizontal screw centrifuge to operate uninterruptedly around the clock, which is particularly suitable for continuous separation scenarios with high solid content or large processing capacity.

Detailed explanation of core structure
1. Drum structure
The drum is the core component of the centrifuge, usually made of high-strength and corrosion-resistant materials such as 304/316L stainless steel and duplex steel. We use advanced precision welding and dynamic balancing detection technology to ensure that the drum still has excellent balance and durability when rotating at high speed.
2. Screw conveyor
We use wear-resistant alloy welding layer or tungsten carbide spraying treatment to effectively extend the life of the spiral blades. The differential control system can adjust the speed difference between it and the drum, so as to accurately control the dryness and wetness of the solid slag.
3. Drive system
Including the main motor and auxiliary motor, the main motor drives the drum to rotate at high speed, and the auxiliary motor controls the rotation of the screw conveyor through the planetary gear differential. Some high-end models are also equipped with frequency converters to achieve intelligent control, energy saving and consumption reduction.
4. Sealing and shock absorption system
Adopting multi-stage mechanical sealing structure and independent shock absorption base to reduce operating noise and vibration, it is suitable for high-demand places such as pharmaceutical and food industries.

Typical applications of decanter centrifuges in various industries
Decanter centrifuges can meet the continuous separation needs of almost all medium and high solid content materials due to their advantages such as high efficiency, automation, closed processing and stable operation. The following are several typical industry application scenarios:
1. Sludge dehydration (municipal and industrial sewage treatment)
Decanter centrifuges are widely used in the dehydration of residual sludge in sewage treatment plants. They are stable in operation, easy to maintain and have low energy consumption, making them the preferred equipment to replace belt filter presses and plate and frame filter presses.
2. Chemical industry
In the production of fine chemicals such as PVC, ABS, dyes, titanium dioxide, carbon black, etc., they are used for solid-liquid separation in intermediate products or wastewater, and are suitable for high temperature, high viscosity and highly corrosive materials.
3. Food industry
For example, the separation and dehydration of soy milk, lees, vegetable protein, and fruit and vegetable juices requires equipment that meets food grade cleanliness standards. Our company can customize CIP cleaning systems and 304/316L all-stainless steel liquid contact surfaces.

Key points for selecting a horizontal screw centrifuge
The selection of a horizontal screw centrifuge should be determined based on specific operating parameters. The following are several key reference indicators:
Processing capacity (m³/h): Select the drum size based on the volume of material to be processed daily;
Solid content ratio: Determines the slag discharge capacity and operating efficiency of the equipment;
Material viscosity and particle size: Affects the separation factor and the design of the spiral pusher structure;
Differential speed range: The larger the differential speed, the drier the slag discharge, but the energy consumption also increases;
Slag dryness requirements: Related to whether a dosing system (flocculant) is required;
Whether continuous feeding and discharging: The horizontal screw centrifuge supports 24-hour uninterrupted operation;
Temperature and corrosive requirements for materials: Determine whether 316L or duplex steel is required.

From municipal sewage, chemical tail water to biological fermentation and food processing, the decanter centrifuge is reshaping the industrial separation pattern with its strength.
