Working Principle
First of all , Inside the bowl is a set of disc-shaped parts that are nested on top of each other – discs. There is a small gap between the discs. The suspension is fed into the bowl by a feed pipe located in the center of the bowl.
As the suspension flows through the gap between the discs, the solid particles settle onto the discs by the centrifuge to form a sediment . The sediment slides along the surface of the disc and detachs from the disc and accumulates in the largest diameter part of the bowl. And the separated liquid is discharged from the bowl through the outlet.
In a word, The function of the disc is to shorten the sedimentation distance of solid particles and expand the sedimentation area of the bowl. Then, it can be greatly increases the production capacity of the separator due to the installation of the disc in the bowl. The solids accumulated in the bowl are disassembled after the separator has been shut down and removed by hand, or discharged fromthe bowl by means of a slag discharge mechanism without stopping the machine.
Application Fields
The disc separator can be operated under closed, high, low, pressurized and vacuum conditions .Also, it can be used for the purification of cream and juice extracted from milk, beer, animal and vegetable oils, transformer oils, etc. Certainly the yeast concentration and serum extraction from animal plasma, etc.
