Decanter Centrifuge Product Introduction
The 550 Horizontal Decanter Centrifuge for High-Solids Separation is designed for continuous solid-liquid separation of slurries with high solid content and varying particle sizes. It delivers strong centrifugal force and stable conveying performance, enabling efficient separation, thickening, and dewatering in demanding industrial processes.
With a robust horizontal decanter design, this centrifuge is suitable for processing mineral slurries, chemical suspensions, biomass materials, and other high-solids mixtures where conventional filtration methods are inefficient or unstable. It ensures reliable operation, reduced solids volume, and improved process efficiency.

Working Principle
The slurry enters the rotating bowl through the feed inlet. As the bowl spins at high speed, solids settle against the bowl wall under centrifugal force while the clarified liquid flows towards the liquid outlet.
An internal scroll conveyor rotates at a slightly different speed to move the separated solids toward the conical end for discrete discharge. By adjusting bowl and differential speeds, operators can finely tune separation performance based on materials and process requirements.
This continuous operation ensures efficient separation with minimal manual intervention.

FAQ
Q1: What solids content can the 550 centrifuge handle?
A1: The 550 model is capable of handling slurries with solids content up to ~15% depending on material characteristics and adjustments in differential speed.
Q2: What does differential speed mean?
A2: Differential speed refers to the speed difference between the bowl and the internal scroll. Adjusting it helps optimize solids conveyance and cake dryness.
Q3: Can this unit be configured for corrosive fluids?
A3: Yes — materials such as SS316L or Duplex 2205 can be specified for corrosive environments.
Q4: Is automation available?
A4: Yes — PLC with HMI, VFD control, overload protection, and diagnostic alarms are included.
Q5: What industries is this centrifuge used in?
A5: It is widely used in wastewater, mining, oil & gas, chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical, and industrial plant applications.
