Continuous Orange Apple Fruit Juice Clarifying Disc Stack Centrifuge
The disc separator is specifically designed for separating phases, both two and three-phase. Two-phase separation involves removing suspended solids from a liquid or separating two immiscible liquids with different specific gravities. Three-phase separation involves separating two immiscible liquid phases and a solid phase simultaneously.
1. Liquid-liquid separation (or liquid-liquid-solid) separation (i.e., the separation of emulsion) is called separation operation,
that is three-phase separation.
2. Liquid solid separation (i.e. separation of bottom concentration suspension), which is called clarification operation, that is two-phase separation.
The drum contains nested, disc-shaped parts with a small gap between them. The feed pipe at the center of the drum adds suspension (or emulsion), which flows through the gap and allows solid particles (or droplets) to settle on the discs due to centrifugal force. This forms sediment (or a liquid layer) that slides along the surface of the disc and accumulates in the area with the largest inner diameter of the drum. The extracted liquid is then released through the drum’s outlet.
The disc shortens the settling distance of solid particles (or droplets) and expands the settling area of the drum. When installed in the drum, the disc significantly improves the production capacity of the separator. The solid accumulated in the drum can be removed manually after the separator is shut down, or it can be discharged from the drum without shutting down by using the slag removal mechanism.
Disc Oil Separator is commonly used in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industry. It is an excellent option for efficiently separating oil and water. Its automatic operation mode makes it easy to operate and maintain. With its professional and objective language, Disc Oil Separator is a valuable choice for those in need of a highly effective oil and water separation machine.
How a Self-Cleaning Disk Centrifuge Works
Similar to disk separators with solid-wall bowls, disk separators with self-cleaning bowls also have a stack of conical disks that allow for a substantial clarification area in a compact bowl. These separators are offered in versions for both clarification and separation purposes.
Separators with a self-cleaning bowl have the ability to regularly remove separated solids at full speed. This is accomplished through multiple ports positioned evenly around the perimeter of the bowl. A movable sliding piston located at the bottom of the bowl is used to open and close these ports, with a hydraulic mechanism. Typically, water is used as a control medium, though low-viscosity organic fluids may be used in certain situations.
This opening mechanism allows for both partial and total ejections. Total ejections involve discharging the entire bowl’s contents while the feed valve is closed. On the other hand, in a partial ejection, only a portion of the bowl’s contents is discharged while the feed valve is open.
Disc Centrifuge Features
The disc separator operates on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation to separate liquids or solid-liquid suspensions with different densities. It offers multiple benefits such as high speed, stable operation, closed import and export systems, low noise, and effective separation.
All components that come into contact with the separator material are constructed from stainless steel, in accordance with food hygiene standards.
The disc separator contains an import and export device, rotating drum, vertical shaft, horizontal shaft, body, speed measuring device, brake device, and electric motor. It utilizes a centripetal pump structure to discharge the material after separation. The high output pressure (0-0.5MPa) allows for direct transport to downstream equipment. The dynamic balance checked drum and large helical gear pair provide stable speed, overload prevention, and low vibration. The equipment also features safety and reliability, simple operation, and convenient use. The Swedish SKF brand bearings are used to ensure the accuracy of equipment operation. The machine can also be programmed for operation with the addition of a PLC electric control system.
