The Concept Of Centrifuge Differential
The centrifuge differential is an important component of the centrifuge transmission system. Its main function is to achieve differential movement between the drum and the screw, thereby ensuring that the centrifuge can smoothly and efficiently perform solid-liquid separation.
How The Differential Works
The differential is usually composed of an input shaft, an output shaft, a gear pair, a differential housing, and a lubrication system. During operation, the motor transmits power to the differential through the input shaft, and the differential distributes the power to the drum and the screw through the gear pair, so that the two rotate in different directions at the same speed, thereby achieving solid-liquid separation.
Our Differentials
- To achieve solid-liquid separation: During the working process of the horizontal screw centrifuge, the drum and the spiral rotate at high speed in the same direction with a certain speed difference. The material enters the inner cylinder of the feeding spiral through the feed pipe and accelerates into the drum. Under the action of the strong centrifugal field, the solid phase with higher density will accumulate on the inner wall of the drum to form a residue layer.
- Controlling the feeding speed: The differential can accurately control the rotation speed of the screw conveyor, ensuring that the solid phase is continuously pushed to the conical end of the drum, and is dehydrated and dried after being pushed out of the liquid surface, and finally discharged from the slag discharge port. At the same time, the supernatant is discharged from the large end of the drum, completing the solid-liquid separation process.
Use Of Differential
The design and adjustment ability of the differential has a direct impact on the operating efficiency and processing effect of the centrifuge. Under the same processing capacity, the centrifuge with a larger drum diameter can run at a lower differential speed because the spiral slag conveying capacity of the large drum diameter is larger, while the centrifuge with a small drum diameter must achieve the same slag conveying capacity by increasing the differential speed.
