Disc Separator Overview
Disc Separators are specially designed for two-phase and three-phase separation. Two-phase separation is the separation of suspended solids from an immiscible liquid or two liquids with different specific gravities. Three-phase separation is the simultaneous separation of two immiscible liquid phases and a solid phase.
The separation of liquid and solid (i.e. the separation of the bottom concentration suspension) is called clarification operation, i.e. two-phase separation.
Liquid-liquid separation (or liquid-solid) separation (i.e. separation of emulsions) is called a separation operation, i.e. three-phase separation.
Disc Separator Working Principle
Disc Separator,The bowl rotates at high speed around the main shaft and is driven by an electric motor through a hydraulic coupling and a helical gear pair. The liquid flows from the upper feed pipe into the bottom of the bowl and then is separated through the holes in the disc seat.
Under the action of centrifugal force, the heavy liquid flows along the inner wall of the disc to the inner wall of the bowl and then is discharged by the heavy liquid pump. The light liquid will be discharged by the light liquid pump, it flows along the inner wall of the disc into the central pipe and then flows to the high liquid outlet.
The remaining larger solid phase particles will be deposited on the wall of the bowl and then be discharged by the sliding bowl through the sediment outlet.
