What is a Decanter Centrifuge
Decanter Centrifuge. Decanter Centrifuges converts the centrifugal acceleration generated by high-speed rotation into gravity acceleration, shortening the sedimentation time of solid particles by thousands of times, and discharges the solid particles continuously and uninterruptedly through a screw conveyor.
Working principle of the decanter centrifuge
The heavier solid phase is deposited on the drum wall under the action of the centrifugal field to form a slag layer. The feed screw continuously pushes the deposited solid phase to the cone end of the drum and discharges it out of the machine through the slag discharge port.
The lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring, which continuously overflows the drum from the overflow port at the large end of the drum and is discharged out of the machine through the liquid discharge port.
Decanter Centrifuges Details
It consists of a frame, cover plate, main bearing, drum, screw, differential, transmission system, control system, safety protection system, etc.
Details description
The casing is the outer protective structure of the decanter centrifuge, forming a closed system that allows the centrifugal separation process to be carried out in a closed environment.
The rotor consists of a drum and a screw conveyor, and is the core component of the decanter centrifuge.
The differential system is used to control the speed difference between the drum and the screw conveyor, which is the key to achieving solid-liquid separation.
The liquid level baffle is used to control the liquid level in the drum to avoid equipment failure due to excessive or low liquid level.
The drive system provides power to the drum and screw conveyor to make them rotate at high speed.
