About Centrifuge Introduction
With its powerful centrifugal force field and precise separation technology, the decanter centrifuge can quickly and effectively separate solid impurities from liquid components in food, thereby significantly improving the purity and taste of the product. At the same time, the introduction of automatic control makes the separation process more accurate and efficient, greatly saving manpower and material costs.
Therefore, the introduction of the decanter centrifuge as a key equipment for food processing is a concrete manifestation of our pursuit of higher quality and higher efficiency production goals.
Working Principle
The design of the decanter centrifuge ensures efficient separation of the incoming product into liquids and solids.
- The separation takes place over the entire length of the cylindrical section of the bowl, which is equipped with a concentric screw conveyor. The product is fed into the bowl through a fixed inlet pipe and is smoothly accelerated through the feed zone in the conveyor. Centrifugal force causes instant sedimentation of solids on the bowl walls. The clarified liquid flows naturally under the influence of gravity, over an adjustable weir (baffle) and into the housing. A pressurized liquid discharge is also provided (using a distribution disc), making direct transfer of liquids possible without any environmental contact.
The conveyor rotates in the same direction inside the bowl, but at a slightly different speed. - This difference between the bowl and the conveyor can be adjusted manually or automatically. The speed difference moves the solids to the tapered end, where they are lifted out of the liquid. The solids are drained before discharge.
Process Optimization
Decanter centrifuge operations can be adjusted tosuit your individual requirements by varying:
- Bowl speed, to ensure the exact G-force required foroptimal separation
- Conveyor speed, for the required balance between liguid clarity and solids discharge
- Pond depth in the bowl, which can be adjusted to achievethe desired balance between liquid clarity, solids drynessand an inter-phase setting between heavy and light liquid phase
- Feed flow rate – can deal with a wide range of different flow rates.
Optional Features
Decanter centrifuges offer additional options depending on your specific operational requirements. For applications where low energy consumption is important, energy-saving tubes can reduce overall energy consumption. If oxidation or foaming is a concern, paired disc configurations are available with pressurized outlets.

Scene Application Display
Food processing decanter centrifuges are widely used in various food processing scenarios that require solid-liquid separation, including but not limited to:
- Dairy product processing: clarification and removal of milk, yogurt, cream, etc.
- Fruit juice beverage production: removal of insoluble matter such as pulp fiber and pectin in juice.
- Wine brewing: separation of lees and wine body to improve the purity of wine.
- Condiment manufacturing: solid-liquid separation of fermentation products such as soy sauce and vinegar.
