Working Principle
The working principle of the horizontal screw centrifuge is based on the action of centrifugal force. When the suspension enters the centrifuge through the feed pipe, the heavier solid particles quickly settle on the inner wall of the drum due to the centrifugal force in the high-speed rotating drum, forming a solid phase layer (or solid ring layer), while the lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring. At the same time, the screw conveyor with the same direction as the drum but slightly lower speed starts to work. It pushes the solid phase deposited on the inner wall of the drum to the conical end of the drum at a certain differential speed, and finally discharges it through the slag discharge port. The liquid phase is discharged through the overflow port, thereby achieving the purpose of solid-liquid separation.
