Working principle
Decanter centrifuge is the abbreviation of horizontal spiral discharge sedimentation centrifuge. The horizontal centrifuge is mainly composed of a drum, a screw, a planetary gear differential, a bearing seat, a feed pipe, a frame, a cover, a main motor, an auxiliary motor, an electrical control system and various monitoring instruments in the form of a mechanical differential. When the material enters the drum chamber of the centrifuge, it is driven by the high-speed rotating drum to rotate at high speed, so the material will be subjected to a strong centrifugal force. Since the density of the solid particles in the mixture is very high and the centrifugal force is also very large, the solid phase will be poured on the inner wall of the drum to form a solid ring layer.
At the same time, the liquid phase has a small density and a small centrifugal force, and the liquid ring layer can only be formed inside the solid ring layer. Because the spiral and the drum rotate at different speeds, there is a relative motion between the two (i.e., the speed difference). Therefore, the spiral pushes the solids deposited in the inner wall of the drum to the discharge port at the small end of the drum, and the liquid phase is discharged from the overflow port at the large end of the drum. The function of the differential is to form a certain speed difference between the drum and the spiral.
