Working Principle
The disc stack centrifuge can rapidly and continuously separate solids from liquids and liquids from liquids. It is a vertical centrifuge.
The drum is mounted at the upper end of a vertical shaft and driven by a motor with a high-speed transmission. Inside the drum is a set of discs nested together, each with a small gap between them. A suspension (or emulsion) is fed into the drum through a feed pipe located in the center of the drum. As the suspension (or emulsion) flows through the gaps between the discs, the solid particles (or liquid droplets) settle on the discs under the action of the centrifugal force, forming a sediment (or liquid layer). The sludge slides along the surface of the discs, separating from them and accumulating in the largest diameter section of the drum. The separated liquid is discharged into the drum through the liquid outlet. The discs shorten the settling distance for solid particles (or liquid droplets) and expand the settling area of the drum. The installation of discs in the drum significantly increases the separator’s production capacity. After the separator is shut down by removing the rotating drum, accumulated solids can be removed manually or discharged from the drum without stopping the machine using a sludge discharge mechanism.
Liquid-solid separation (i.e., separation of a bottom-concentrated suspension) is called a clarification operation. Liquid-liquid (or liquid-solid) separation (i.e., separation of an emulsion) is called a separation operation.

Key Design Features

Exterior polished (polished to 0.8″)
EPDM rubber seals with hygiene certification.
Siemens PLC fully automatic control system
Skid-mounted platform
The centrifuge is ideal for purification, concentration, and clarification. It offers the advantages of continuous and fully automated operation.

Applications
This equipment is designed to support continuous feeding, automatic separation, and automatic slag discharge, significantly improving the continuity and stability of industrial production lines. Using advanced hydraulic or pneumatic slag discharge mechanisms, the equipment automatically discharges slag based on a set time or solids load, eliminating the need for manual intervention and significantly reducing labor intensity and operating costs. It is particularly suitable for industries requiring continuous operation and high throughput, such as fermentation broth, biological products, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food.
