Tubular Centrifuge For Coconut Oil Separation

The centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation can effectively separate solid particles, floating objects or liquid components of different densities in the mixed liquid, thereby achieving the purpose of clarification or purification.

Separation Process

The coconut milk is fed from the inlet located at the bottom of the bowl. The bowl is connected to a motor and the separation takes place inside the bowl which rotates at a speed of 15,000 rpm. The basic principle is that the density difference of two immiscible liquids forces the denser liquid to move outside the rotating axis. The heavier liquid phase is forced towards the bowl, while the light phase is forced into the bowl. Special openings at the top of the bowl separate the virgin coconut oil from the water, and the two outlets at the top correspond to the light phase (water) and the heavy phase (virgin coconut oil). The separated virgin coconut oil is further fed into a centrifuge and the process is repeated three times to obtain the pure oil

Performance Characteristics

  • Efficient separation: can quickly and effectively separate solid particles and liquid components in the mixed liquid, improving product quality.
  • Continuous operation: supports continuous feeding and discharging, improving production efficiency.
  • High degree of automation: equipped with advanced control system to achieve remote monitoring and automatic adjustment.
  • Strong corrosion resistance: key components are made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, suitable for a variety of corrosive media.
  • Easy maintenance: reasonable structural design, easy to disassemble and clean, reducing maintenance costs.

Application

This equipment is used to extract Virgin Coconut Oil from coconut milk. The centrifuge is the final stage of the VCO extraction process and as the name suggests, the process uses centrifugation. The uniqueness of this process is that it uses a non-thermal extraction method, also known as cold processing. Heating methods destroy many of the important nutrients that act as natural preservatives during storage. The cold processing technique retains the natural properties and nutritional value of the oil. All contact parts of the machine are SS304, corrosion resistant and food safe.
