Working Principle
Horizontal spiral sedimentation centrifuge is an efficient and continuous solid-liquid separation equipment, and its working principle is based on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation. When the material enters the centrifuge, a strong centrifugal force field is generated in the high-speed rotating drum. Under the action of this force field, the solid particles in the material quickly settle to the inner wall of the drum due to their large mass, forming a solid phase layer; while the liquid, due to its small mass, flows out through the pores in the solid phase layer or the small holes on the drum under the action of centrifugal force, achieving solid-liquid separation. At the same time, the screw conveyor rotates in the same direction as the drum at a certain differential speed, continuously pushing the solid phase layer deposited on the inner wall of the drum to the discharge end, completing the continuous discharge of solids.
Main Components
- Drum: The core component of the centrifuge, usually made of high-strength material, with channels inside for liquid discharge.
- Screw conveyor: Rotates in the same direction as the drum but at a slightly slower speed, responsible for pushing the solid phase layer to the discharge end.
- Differential: Controls the speed difference between the screw conveyor and the drum, affecting the separation effect and the solid phase discharge speed.
- Feeding system: Including feed pipe, distributor, etc., to ensure that the material enters the drum evenly.
- Discharging system: Including solid phase discharge port and liquid phase discharge port, respectively collecting the separated solid and liquid.
- Drive system: Provides the power required for the rotation of the drum and screw conveyor.
- Lubrication and cooling system: Ensures long-term stable operation of the equipment to prevent overheating.
