Wastewater Treatment Decanter Centrifuge, Used Centrifuge

The horizontal screw centrifuge uses the principle of centrifugal sedimentation to effectively separate solid particles from liquid through the strong centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotating drum.

Definition And Classification

The wastewater treatment centrifuge is a high-efficiency separation equipment specially used in the field of wastewater treatment. It uses the centrifugal force field to separate suspended matter, particulate matter and some soluble substances in wastewater from the liquid phase to achieve the purpose of purifying water quality. According to the different structures and working principles, wastewater treatment centrifuges can be divided into many types, including but not limited to horizontal screw centrifuges, disc centrifuges, tubular centrifuges, etc. Among them, horizontal screw centrifuges have been widely used in the field of wastewater treatment due to their large processing capacity, strong continuity and high degree of automation.

Working Principle

The working principle of the wastewater treatment centrifuge is based on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation. When the wastewater enters the centrifuge, a strong centrifugal force field is generated in the high-speed rotating drum. Under the action of this force field, suspended matter, particulate matter and other components with larger specific gravity in the wastewater quickly settle to the inner wall of the drum to form a solid phase layer; while the clean liquid phase is thrown to the center area of the drum due to its smaller specific gravity and discharged through a specific path. Some centrifuges are also equipped with a screw conveyor to continuously push out the solid phase deposited on the inner wall of the drum to achieve a thorough separation of the solid and liquid phases.

Main Structure

The main structure of the wastewater treatment centrifuge includes the drum, screw conveyor (for horizontal screw centrifuges), drive device, differential, feeding system, discharging system and control system. The drum is the core component of the equipment, and its parameters such as material, diameter, length and speed directly affect the separation effect. The screw conveyor is responsible for pushing the solid phase from the inner wall of the drum to the slag outlet.

Workflow

The workflow of the wastewater treatment centrifuge generally includes the following steps:

  • Feeding: The wastewater to be treated enters the centrifuge drum through the feed pipe.
  • Separation: Under the action of centrifugal force, the solid and liquid phases in the wastewater begin to separate. The solid phase is deposited on the inner wall of the drum to form a solid phase layer, and the liquid phase flows to the center of the drum.
  • Dehydration and slag discharge: For centrifuges equipped with screw conveyors, the solid phase moves to the slag outlet under the push of the screw conveyor, and is further dehydrated during the process. Finally, the dry solid phase is discharged from the slag outlet.
  • Liquid discharge**: The clean liquid phase is discharged from the centrifuge through a specific path (such as an overflow weir).

Advantages And Features

  • High-efficiency separation: can quickly and thoroughly separate the solid and liquid phases in wastewater.
  • Continuous operation: large processing capacity, can continuously treat wastewater.
  • High degree of automation: equipped with advanced control system to achieve automated operation and remote monitoring.
  • Energy saving and environmental protection: low energy consumption design, reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Strong adaptability: can treat wastewater of various properties and concentrations.

Application Areas

Wastewater treatment centrifuges are widely used in various wastewater treatment projects, including but not limited to: industrial wastewater treatment in chemical, textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking, pharmaceutical and other industries. Municipal sewage treatment in urban domestic sewage treatment plants for sludge dehydration and water purification. Oil-water separation in environmental protection projects, heavy metal ion removal and other wastewater treatment in environmental protection projects.
