Speed range
Decanter centrifuges: A range of speeds from 1,000 to 3,000 rpm, with some sources stating that general decanter centrifuge speeds should be above 3,000 rpm. This speed range makes them suitable for a wide range of dilute liquid separation, solid-liquid separation and extraction operations.
Decanter centrifuges: The speed range is even higher, usually between 8,000 and 12,000 rpm. These high speeds allow the decanter centrifuge to handle higher concentrations and viscous suspensions.
Separation effect
Decanter centrifuge:Although it is capable of accomplishing the separation task, a certain amount of residue is usually left over and not completely separated. However, for some specific samples, such as liquid-liquid phase separation, a decanter centrifuge may be more effective.
Decanter Sedimentation Centrifuge:Separation is much more effective, capable of separating a cleaner supernatant and a drier sediment. This is due to its higher speed and more advanced separation technology.
Scope of application
Decanter centrifuge: more suitable for the separation of wave liquid phase or solid-liquid phase mixture, such as alcohol extraction, oil-water separation, cosmetics production and other fields.
Decanter centrifuge: more suitable for dealing with higher concentration, really more viscous suspension, such as enzymes, cells, viruses and other biological samples separation.
Working principle and structure
Decanter centrifuge: a horizontal spiral discharge, continuous operation of the sedimentation equipment, its working principle is the drum and spiral with a certain difference in speed in the same direction of high-speed rotation, the material from the feed pipe into the feeding spiral continuous inner cylinder, accelerated into the drum. Under the action of centrifugal force field, the heavier solid-phase material is deposited on the wall of the drum to form a slag layer, which is continuously pushed out by the conveying screw; the lighter liquid-phase material is formed into the inner liquid ring, which is continuously overflowing from the overflow port on the big end of the drum.
Decanter centrifuge: the same horizontal screw discharge structure, but pay more attention to the settlement effect. Its working principle is similar to that of decanter centrifuge, but through higher rotational speed and more optimized structural parameters (e.g. differential speed, drum diameter, screw angle, etc.), to achieve a better settlement and separation effect.
Decanter centrifuges and decanter centrifuges differ significantly in terms of speed range, separation effect, range of applications, as well as working principle and structure. The choice depends on the specific application scenario and separation requirements.
