Cleaning and maintenance
1. External cleaning:
After each use of the centrifuge, the inner and outer surfaces of the centrifuge should be wiped in time to remove dust, dirt, etc. to keep the centrifuge clean.
2. Internal cleaning:
Regularly clean the inside of the centrifuge chamber, including checking and removing samples, dust accumulation, or glass residues left by broken sampling tubes.
For refrigerated centrifuges, special attention should be paid to cleaning the accumulated water in the centrifuge chamber, because this accumulated water may be formed by moisture in the air frosting in the centrifuge chamber. Most large-capacity centrifuges do not have drainage holes, and the accumulated water will increase. The rotor should be removed regularly for cleaning.
When cleaning, it is recommended to use a mild detergent and ensure that the inside of the centrifuge is completely dry. Avoid using chemicals such as acetone that may damage the centrifuge.
Parts inspection and replacement
1. Seal inspection:
Regularly check the rubber sealing rings at the contact point between the upper part of the centrifuge chamber and the door cover, and the contact point between the rotor seat and the bottom of the centrifuge chamber to ensure that there is no damage, deformation or aging. If necessary, it should be replaced in time.
2. Rotor inspection:
Regularly check whether the rotor and cover are clean, scratched, deformed or damaged.
Check whether the speed disc is clean and damaged. If necessary, clean it with alcohol and wait for it to dry before use. The damaged speed disc needs to be replaced in time.
Check whether the rotor has corrosion spots, grooves, small cracks and other damages. If found, it should be stopped immediately and repaired or replaced.
3. Other parts inspection:
Check whether the door cover pneumatic support rod and door lock switch can work normally.
Check whether the motor bearings need to be lubricated and perform regular inspection and maintenance.
Check the wear of the commutator and brushes. If they are excessively worn, replace them immediately.
Electrical system inspection
1. Power cord and plug inspection: Regularly check whether the power cord, plug, socket and other electrical components are damaged, and replace them in time if necessary.
2. Motor operation inspection: During the use of the centrifuge, pay attention to the sound of the motor operation and check whether there is any abnormal noise or vibration. If any abnormality is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection.
Ventilation and heat dissipation
1. Cooling fan inspection: Regularly check whether the cooling fan is working properly to ensure that it can effectively dissipate heat and prevent the motor from overheating.
2. Cleaning of ventilation windows and condenser: Regularly remove dust from the ventilation windows and condenser of the centrifuge to ensure ventilation effect and heat transfer effect of the condenser.
Maintenance before shutdown
1. Preparation before shutdown: When the centrifuge is not used for a long time, it should be shut down for maintenance. This includes cutting off the power supply, cleaning the equipment, applying anti-rust oil, etc. to prevent the equipment from being corroded or damaged by moisture.
2. Rotor treatment: If the centrifuge is not used for a long time, the rotor should be removed and anti-rust oil should be applied to the rotor seat and drive shaft to prevent the rotor seat and drive shaft from rusting.
Precautions for use
1. Matching samples with centrifuge tubes: When using a centrifuge, ensure that the chemical resistance of the centrifuge tube material matches the experimental requirements to avoid rupture or contamination of the centrifuge tube due to chemical reactions.
2. Place the centrifuge tubes evenly: When installing the centrifuge tubes, ensure that they are placed symmetrically to avoid imbalance that may cause the centrifuge to shake or generate noise.
Through the implementation of the above daily maintenance measures, the stable operation and efficient separation performance of the centrifuge can be ensured, its service life can be extended and the failure rate can be reduced.
